Accident insurance is a supplemental health product that may provide benefits if you or your dependent suffers a covered injury. This coverage provides you a lump sum cash benefit to help manage unexpected expenses. How you spend it is completely up to you – from everyday bills or childcare.
- Accident coverage through Lincoln Financial is 24-hour coverage, providing increased coverage and claim payment opportunities at all times, even while at work.
- There is no annual injury plan maximum through Lincoln Financial, meaning the number of claims that can be submitted are limitless.
- A $50 annual Wellness Benefit for a qualified health screening is included* simply for having a routine health screening that can help pay for the cost of this coverage.
- Additional Benefit riders:
- Child Sports Rider – increases the payable injury benefit by an additional 25%
- Moving Vehicle Rider – pays benefits for accidents involving a motor vehicle or other non-motorized equipment in addition to any other injury or death benefit on the plan
How to make a claim
If you experience a covered accident, follow the six simple steps to submit your claim through Lincoln’s self-service benefits website:
- Log in to LincolnFinancial.com. First-time users need to register. See instructions below for first-time user registration:
- Select Register on the top right of the page.
- Choose the Register now button for individuals.
- Enter the requested information.
- Validate your identity and create a username and password.
- Select Log in Now.
- Select Accident coverage to proceed with filing your claim.
- Navigate to the claims section of the portal and select Submit a claim.
- Answer the questions that appear, and upload requested supporting documentation.
- Confirm your submission.
- Check the status of your claim online anytime at LincolnFinancial.com.

How to make the most of this benefit
- This benefit complements the Health Savings Account (HSA), as you can use it to pay for covered out-of-pocket expenses before using your HSA.
- If you need emotional support or counseling following an accidental injury, the Employee Assistance Program is available to you 24/7.
- Change your coverage at any time during the year if you have a relevant and qualified change in family status (e.g. you get married and want to add your spouse) – update your elections in Workday.
