2022 Annual Benefits Enrollment

OhioHealth’s comprehensive benefits and well-being resources focus on supporting your physical, emotional and overall well-being, giving you more ways to grow and protect your family.

Once a year, you have an opportunity to enroll in benefits or make changes to your existing choices. This year, you can enroll in 2022 benefits between October 18 and 31, 2021. Even if you want to keep your same plans at the same coverage levels, there is action required if you want to continue certain benefits.

BOOK YOUR ONE-ON-ONE

Explore to see all that OhioHealth has to offer. On this page, you’ll learn about annual benefits enrollment, including what’s new and changing. Look for a home mailer that also includes annual enrollment information. Then, schedule a phone appointment with a benefits counselor to answer questions and get help enrolling in Workday. (See details below.)

Don’t forget, if you miss this enrollment window, you won’t be able to make changes to your benefits until next year, unless you have a qualified life event or want to change your HSA or retirement contributions.

Let’s get started!

What’s new for 2022?

Watch this video for an overview of your benefits and what’s changing in 2022.

  • You (and your spouse, if applicable) need to complete the online confidential Health Assessment by November 30, 2021 to earn ALL medical plan discounts – $1,170 for associate only and $2,340 for associate + spouse. For more details, visit our Wellness-Screening page.
  • The OhioHealthy HDHP+HSA and PPO medical plan premiums are increasing, and you’ll see higher deductibles and maximum out-of-pocket amounts in 2022. These increases do not apply to the PPO Assist Plan. Those who contribute to the Health Savings Account (HSA) will see a reduction in the OhioHealth matching contribution.

For the past few years, we have worked hard to maintain consistent levels of associate medical plan premiums, deductibles and out-of-pocket maximum cost with just slight increases being passed on to associates. The costs to fund the medical plan have increased substantially, driven by the rise in overall healthcare costs and member claims. OhioHealth will continue to pay most of the healthcare contributions and your Health Assessment discount earned in 2021 will help offset your contributions.

  • Vision coverage will include VSP PremierMaxTM, a program that offers savings when you elect to visit a VSP Premier Program location, and VSP LightcareTM, which allows you to select non-prescription sunglasses or blue light filtering glasses.
  • Express Scripts® will manage our prescription benefit with simple, stress-free ordering, prescriptions delivered to your door, and world-class customer support, 24/7.
  • We are moving from MDLIVE to Teladoc Health as our provider for virtual health visits and services.
  • Associate Voluntary Life Insurance premiums are moving to age-banded rates that may change the cost for some covered associates.
  • We are simplifying your Dependent Life Insurance options and giving you more flexibility with new coverage options in the Voluntary Spouse and Voluntary Child Life Insurance plans. If you had coverage in 2021, you will need to update your election(s) to keep the same level of coverage for 2022.

Speak to a benefits counselor

We want to make enrollment as easy as possible, so we have arranged for you to receive a one-on-one session with a professional benefits counselor. They will review the available benefits with you, answer your questions, and help you complete your enrollment. Your benefits counselor will:

  • Review the available benefits with you and answer your questions
  • Discuss your specific circumstances and needs to help you make the best choices
  • Explain new plans and features for you to consider
  • Help you complete your enrollment

We strongly encourage you to take advantage of this resource. To schedule your one-on-one, follow these steps:

  • Visit MyOhioHealthAnnualEnrollment.com before October 22
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to make your appointment
  • A confirmation email/text message will be sent to you — followed by reminders 24 hours and 3 hours prior to your appointment
  • At the time of your appointment, a benefits counselor will contact you from a 205 area code

You can prepare for your benefits counseling session by carefully reviewing all the changes on this page and considering your specific benefit needs and circumstances ahead of time.

What actions are required during annual enrollment?

You must make active selections if you want to:

  • Enroll in a medical plan — HDHP+HSA, PPO or if pre-approved, PPO Assist Plan
  • Opt-in to Wellness (if you are not enrolling in a medical plan) — for $10 per pay period, you can access well-being resources including CaféWell, an online well-being platform where you can earn cash rewards for healthy activities
  • Increase your Life Insurance for you and/or your dependents
  • Contribute to your Health Savings Account (HSA) and receive OhioHealth’s matching contribution — your current Workday election will not carry over
  • Contribute to a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) (Healthcare FSA, Limited Purpose Healthcare FSA and Dependent Care FSA) — your current Workday elections will not carry over
  • Change covered family members
  • Update your Voluntary Dependent Life Insurance election(s) to keep the same level of coverage that you had for 2021
  • Cash in some of your TAP balance in 2022 (does not apply to associates with less than 80 hours of TAP nor leaders at or above P4 and on the M band of the Career Framework)

What happens if I don’t enroll?

In some cases, you may not want to enroll – and that’s okay. But be prepared for the following to happen:

  • If you are currently enrolled in the HDHP+HSA or PPO, you will be enrolled in the same plan for 2022 at your current coverage level (such as associate only, associate + spouse or family).
  • If you are currently enrolled in the PPO Assist Plan and have been pre-approved for 2022, you will be enrolled in the same plan at your current coverage level; if you have not been pre-approved, you will need to enroll in another plan to have medical coverage.
  • If you are currently enrolled in other benefits, you will be re-enrolled at your current coverage level for 2022 except for the items listed below, which require a new election for 2022 coverage:
    • Dependent Voluntary Life coverage
    • HSA election in Workday will not carry over and you will not receive OhioHealth’s matching contribution
    • FSA election(s) in Workday will not carry over

Quick tips

  • Take advantage of the benefits counselor if needed — you can enroll while you're on the phone
  • Complete enrollment no later than Sunday, October 31
  • If you add a new dependent, you must submit documentation (such as a Birth Certificate or Marriage Certificate) verifying their eligibility by the deadline shown in Workday, otherwise they will not have benefit coverage in 2022
  • You can print a summary of your choices from Workday as a confirmation statement or revisit Workday at any time to see your 2022 choices
  • Don’t forget to complete the online Health Assessment in CaféWell by November 30, 2021 to earn ALL 2022 medical plan discounts. For more details, visit our Wellness-Screening page.
  • Look for a new medical insurance card in the mail by January 1, 2022 — and replace your old card with the new one
